At Vulnerable Children in Need Australia (VCN Australia), we are at the beginning of an exciting journey. Our work so far has focused on laying a strong foundation for the future, through building the structures and community relationships needed to create lasting impact for vulnerable children.
Getting Established
Our first priority has been to establish VCN Australia as a legally registered, well-governed charity. This has included:
- Completing our incorporation and charity registration processes
- Developing a sound Constitution and governance framework
- Putting in place the essential systems and infrastructure required for transparent, accountable operation
These steps ensure that VCN Australia is built on integrity, compliance and good stewardship. These values reflect both our Christian foundation and our commitment to the community we serve.
Community Engagement
At the same time, we have been connecting with leaders and members of the South Sudanese community in Perth, listening to their insights about the challenges facing young people and families.
Through these conversations, we are preparing to support a Community Youth Forum — a gathering where young people, families and community leaders can share their experiences and ideas. The forum will help identify key priorities for supporting vulnerable children and guiding our future projects.
Our goal is to listen first, build understanding, and then act together to make a meaningful difference.
